Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan (Bhutto), Abdul Quyuim Khan, credited as the father of Pakistan’s nuclear program was born in Bhopal state now Madhya Pradesh India on April 4, 1936. His parents migrated to Germany where he completed his education and became a metallurgical engineer. Abdul Qadeer Khan has made major contributions to ensuring that Pakistan becomes a nuclear power at an early stage than other countries. Abdul Qadeer Khan believed that “nuclear technology is the only way to secure peace” and defying great international pressure he risked everything including his life, wealth, and status for achieving this goal.
